How cotton “drinks up” the Tuyabuguz reservoir
Author: oromchi Administrator

It is well known that the Tashkent Sea is nothing other than a hydraulic structure in the Tashkent region — a reservoir in the middle reaches of the Akhangaran River. It was built to seasonally regulate the water resources of the Akhangaran and Chirchik rivers. And that water goes to irrigation needs.
The Tuyabuguz reservoir best supplies irrigation water to the Buka, Akkurgan, Urtachirchik and Kuyichirchik districts. But along the shores of the Tashkent Sea a recreation zone has been created. People come here with their families, groups of friends, newlyweds and loners. And everyone finds their own cozy corner.
Tashmore is popular among amateur anglers, too, since its waters are home to snakehead, carp, catfish and other large fish. Last year jellyfish even appeared there — they were probably drawn to the quarantine-related silence and calm of the water, usually disturbed by people.
These fragile creatures surely take the first blow when, in summer, the water of Tashmore is drawn off for irrigation. No lesser blow is dealt to the recreation zones stretched along the shoreline. Gradually the water recedes, baring the bottom and turning a magnificent aquamarine landscape into a dirty-brown, swampy one.
Such a sight is hardly capable of attracting even local tourists here, let alone guests from near and far abroad.
Tashmore is one of the landmarks of the Tashkent region and of Uzbekistan as a whole. So how does it happen that the resorts on its shore have no real opportunity to prosper? Can it really be that, in our age of advancing technology, no other option can be found for irrigating the fields, or the irrigation system cannot be calculated so that the reservoir does not suffer?
It is a terrible shame that there is a wonderful opportunity to organize seaside tourism to every European standard, and yet businessmen run into difficulties that surely could be solved. Overcoming them, we would have properly equipped beaches; services such as loungers, awnings, deck chairs, balls and inflatable mattresses for rent. And at the same time comfortable, constantly renovated cottages and rooms for holidaymakers, excellent canteens, cafés and restaurants, drinks served around. And also the rental of motorboats, boats and catamarans. One could go on for a long time, but at the heart of all this lie health and a boost of immunity for holidaymakers, as well as profit for the businessman. In the end, this is a carrying wave for the treasury, since improving conditions in recreation zones leads to a growing number of taxpayers. Their prosperity is a colossal contribution to the prosperity of the country as a whole.
But that would only be so if this issue seriously interested anyone. First and foremost, those interested in the prosperity of Uzbekistan's tourism business.
